On February 24, Russia attacked Ukraine. It is currently the 13th day of a full-scale invasion. These are the key events of the day that we’ve selected for you today:
• Ukrainian army liquidated the commander of Russianregiment A. Zakharov during the fight in Brovary district (Kyiv region)
Ukraine’s army destroyed 6 Russian tanks & 1 infantry fighting vehicle in battle for Kyiv. Fighters of Ukraine’s 10th Mountain Assault Brigade shot down Russian Su-25 plane that was flying from Russia’s Primorsky Krai
• Russians tried to break through in Brovary direction (near Kyiv) but this attempt was successfully repulsed by Ukraine’s Armed Forcesа There are still some tactical Russian groups left near Kyiv, but measures are being taken to neutralize them
• In 2 days 60,000 people were evacuated from combat areas in Sumy region (Northen Ukraine) 3,000 from Izyum (Kharkiv region, Eastern Ukraine ) and 20,000 – from Bucha, Irpin, Gostomel, and Vorzel (near Kyiv)
• Situation remains difficult in Volnovakha and Mariupol (Eastern Ukraine): humanitarian corridors cannot be organized
• More than 100 tons of humanitarian aid arrived in Izyum and Energodar(Southern-Eastern Ukraine): medicines, water, everything you need
• Russians fired at Nizhyn (Chernihiv region, Northen Ukraine) with “Uragans”. 2 locals killed, 8 wounded. 2 missiles hit airport in Lozovatka (Dnipropetrovsk region,Central-Eastern Ukraine)
• Ukraine’s forces destroyed Russian Iskander-M division that fired at civilians in Chernihiv region (Northern Ukraine)
• In some districts of Chernihiv (Northern Ukraine) there is no light due to the main heating network being hit. Specialists are working to repair the damage.
• In Chernihiv region (Northern Ukraine) Russians presented Ukraine’s army with 10 tanks, 1 SAM and 1 armored evacuation vehicle
• Russians shelled Kharkiv (Eastern Ukraine) 29 (!) times at night. Russians already destroyed more than 400 (!) civilian houses in the city
Russian orcs continue hit Mariupol (Eastern Ukraine) with missiles. City remains completely blocked both for evacuation and for delivery of humanitarian aid 4 days in a row
• In Melitopol (Southern Ukraine) occupied by Russain army , residents protested for 10th (!) day against Russian occupiers
– There are Russian troops on the border between Mykolayiv and Kherson regions (Southern Ukrane) that don’t want to attack Ukraine but cannot retreat, say they are threatened with execution
• Within 14 days, the customs of Ukraine’s State Customs Service handed over UAH 115 million worth of confiscated goods and vehicles to the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Russian army who seized Zaporizhzhya Nuclear power plant mined shores of Kakhovka Reservoir, which borders with the plant
• Hacker group Anonymous hacked and leaked Roskomnadzor database. More than 360,000 files released.
• Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law that allows nationalization of Russian property in Ukraine without compensation for its value
• In Luhansk region (Eastern Ukraine), Ukraine’s forces restrained Russian army attack. Ukrainian army neutralized at least 10 Russian soldiers, 2 more surrendered
• In Vilnius, the street where the Russian embassy is located has been officially renamed the street of Ukrainian Heroes
